Columbus Judicial Building Nears Completion as Government Overhaul Continues

A new judicial building is nearing completion on 10th Street, marking a major step in the city’s government overhaul and signaling the end of a longtime landmark plagued by flooding and asbestos.

The new Columbus Judicial Building is taking shape next to the old Government Center that has served the city for more than 50 years.

The new building will house judges, courtrooms, the public defender’s office and the district attorney all under one roof.

Outgoing Mayor Skip Henderson said the project came in at just over $200 million, on budget, even after construction costs surged post-COVID.
